My Approach

I’m Anna Pohlmann, a solution-focused and agile coach.

Through several years of international experience, I’ve worked with colleagues from different cultural backgrounds. During this time, it became clear to me just how powerful a thoughtful, supportive conversation can be at a moment of decision.

Wanting to build on this insight, I looked for a research-based approach and completed the internationally accredited training by Solutionsurfers. This provided a structured professional foundation for what I had already experienced in practice. For me, coaching is not just a method, but a responsible and attentive presence in conversation.

My work is based on solution-focused brief coaching, which doesn’t concentrate on the past or detailed problem analysis. Instead, we focus on what is already working, and on the strengths and resources you can consciously build on moving forward.

The focus is on your strengths, existing resources, and practical, achievable steps that move you towards your preferred future.

Change often begins with space — a calm and supportive environment where you can look more clearly at what’s going on for you, and where new possibilities can begin to emerge.

Refined Direction grew from this experience: to create a place where you can slow down, gain clarity, and move towards your own direction with more confidence.

One of the distinctive elements of Refined Direction is Walk & Talk coaching. Gentle movement supports mental wellbeing, encourages creative thinking, reduces stress, and allows for more open, natural conversations. Being in a nature can lower mental barriers and support honest reflection.

Walk & Talk Coaching

Sessions take place outdoors in the green areas of II. and IIX. district, offering a calm contrast to busy city life.

Stress reduction:

We tend to see solutions more clearly and creatively when our nervous system isn’t overloaded. Spending time in nature has been shown to reduce cortisol levels and has a naturally calming effect.

Walking side by side helps ease the formal setting. Rather than sitting opposite each other, the conversation unfolds more naturally, which can support deeper openness and more honest reflection.

Fresh perspective:

Walking also activates cognitive processes and encourages creative thinking. Physical movement often supports mental movement too — helping you shift towards clearer, more action-oriented thinking.

Online Coaching

Coaching is also available online, offering flexibility wherever you are — whether you're working from home, travelling, or settling into life in Budapest.

This option works well if you have a busy schedule, live further away, or prefer the comfort of your own space.
